The task
GingiSushi&Sashimi is a small, but very fine sushi-restaurant at the heart of Berlin-Prenzlauerberg. This exceptional restaurant with its high japaneseclaim is managed by a turkish compatriot. Since mid year 2008 it is the task ofder Leuschner. to communicate this speciality in the Corporate Communication of Gingi Sushi&Sashimi.
The case
To meet the requirements of flavour and quality, the existing design of Gingi Sushi is currently in a relaunch phase. Based on the japanese minimalistic style, a new concept is being developed, which hasa strong Asiatic impression, but at second sight it becomes clear that it is Gingi Sushi&Sashimi is a particular sushi-restaurant. For this reason the menu cards for example cannot be seen as a simple menu of meals, but rather as an invitiation card to create your own menu together with the cook Gingi. In case of ordering from the card, one can see clearly see the application of Asiatic metaphors in the use a roman font which is written top down.
For the main color usage we did not go for the classical Japanese colours red and black. We focused on the mentality of Gingi, which comes across as optimistic, zest for life and constitutional. There’s only one color that fits that description: orange. Paying this very spezial restaurant is a treat. Please talk to Gingi when you’re there.
